Commitment to Safety
Our Commitment to Safety
We work every day to create a safe, fun environment where kids can pursue academic success, good character and citizenship, and a healthy lifestyle – all under the guidance of caring, trained, trustworthy adult leaders.
We have ZERO tolerance for inappropriate behavior of any kind, and we put resources behind that stance. Criminal background checks are required and processed annually for every staff member and board member. In addition, criminal background checks are required for all volunteers who have direct contact with children. Our safety policies and procedures adhere to the highest standards and we are required to report any suspected child abuse to local authorities.
We believe ongoing training and supervision of staff is critical and therefore the topic of safety is included in the agenda and discussed at our monthly leadership team meeting. Through our affiliation with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the topic of safety is reviews and addressed at our monthly staff meetings.
All facilities and vehicles are also required to comply with federal, state and local safety laws. To ensure compliance, random inspections throughout the year are conducted by the police and fire department as well as the FDA.
We work hard to create a culture of safety. Our Club members deserve nothing less than our constant focus on their safety and our firm commitment to protect every child who is entrusted to our care.
