POWER HOUR

Power Hour: Making Minutes Count provides Club professionals with the strategies, activities, resources and information to create an engaging homework help and tutoring program that encourages Club members of every age to become self-directed learners. Members in Power Hour also earn points that may be redeemed for incentives.

SUMMER BRAIN GAIN: READ!

Summer Brain Gain: Read! is a fun, interactive, literacy based program from Boys & Girls Clubs of America designed to help fight summer learning loss.  For multiple weeks during the summer, Club youth will engage in project-based learning modules that use a progression of discovery, creative expression and collaboration to produce a final product or presentation.

STRIDE ACADEMY

Stride Academy is an award-winning Web based program that engages school aged youth in activities to practice skills in math, science, reading and English/Language Arts that adapt to student needs and are aligned to Common Core State Standards.

LEGO LEAGUE

Lego-based activities inspire creativity and help develop small motor skills in addition to introducing youth to principles of science and technology through daily challenges.

This year-round program encourages artistic expression among Club members through various mediums (such as drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media and sculpture).

YOUTH OF THE YEAR

Youth of the Year is Boys & Girls Clubs’ premier recognition program designed to celebrate and foster a new generation of leaders, fully prepared to live and lead in a diverse, global and integrated world economy. The Youth of the Year program is the culmination of an extensive Youth of the Month program featured in the Clubs that recognize high achieving members in a dozen categories that represent our three core impact areas. Each year the Spokane County Youth of the Year winner has a chance to be recognized by the Governor in Seattle and compete for the Washington State title of Youth of the Year.

TORCH CLUB

Torch Clubs are small-group leadership and service clubs for middle school aged youth. A Torch Club is a powerful vehicle that helps Club staff meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their life.

KEYSTONE CLUB

Keystone Club is a national leadership program that promotes character and service in high school aged teen members.  With the guidance of Club staff, teens are given opportunities to make leadership decisions, serve others and engage in experiences that help to shape their knowledge of academic, career, community service and teen outreach initiatives and projects.

LEADERS IN TRAINING (LIT)

The Leaders in Training (LIT) program is designed to give Club Teens the opportunity to develop their leadership and communication skills, demonstrate job readiness and maturity, and become familiar through experience with careers in the Boys & Girls Clubs.

JUNIOR STAFF

The Junior Staff program is perfectly suited for high school aged members who want to build the skills necessary for their future career. This program teaches basic work professionalism as well as job shadowing, developing a resume and how to prepare for a job interview.

CLUB COUNCIL

An introductory leadership opportunity for young members (K – 2nd grade) that includes small group discussions and activities tailored to encourage youth voice and help kids understand complex topics and their implementation.

POSITIVE ACTION

Positive Action promotes the very basic idea that we feel good about ourselves when we do positive actions. The program encourages members to focus on positive self-concept, self-regulation, truthfulness, the Golden Rule and positive actions for the body and mind.

HEALTHY LIFESTYLES

TRIPLE PLAY

Triple Play is a comprehensive health and wellness program. It strives to improve the overall health of Club members ages 6-18 by increasing daily physical activity, teaching them about good nutrition and helping them develop healthy relationships.

SMART GIRLS

SMART Girls provides health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement for girls ages 8 to 17.

PASSPORT TO MANHOOD

Passport to Manhood teaches responsibility to boys ages 11 to 14 with sessions that focus on a specific aspect of character and manhood through highly interactive activities.

GARDEN PROGRAM

This program turns members into gardeners as kids learn how to grow fruits/vegetables as well as manage and care for a community garden.

As part of the Club membership, a healthy meal/snack is provided every day to Club members with more than 100,000 being distributed throughout the year.
